Last Minute Mother’s Day Gifts That Don’t Suck

Our mummies are our heroes, and whilst it is not just about gifting, a little or big gesture will go a long way to remind them that all they do is so very much appreciated.

To get the self promo out of the way.. I honestly believe that if the mum in question is a tired mum looking after a baby or young toddler that could use some help with their sleeping game, a sleep coach is the way to go. Especially if they have expressed an interest in a sleep consultant before - a gift card would be such a WIN.

But otherwise my top ideas for smashing it with your mother’s day ‘make her feel special’ mission:

  • Ask her friends what she wants - no offense to the husbands and grown children out there, but you have no idea. She probably has some cool brands and bits she has had an eye on that you wouldn’t even know exist. But her friends will know. Ditto for any jewellery you’re thinking about.

  • The Labour of Love - Plan a nice day around her and remove the mental load. That means the laundry and dishes are done, the food is prepped and the shop is getting delivered in the evening. If you’re going out - snacks and nappies are packed. Give her a day off basically is what I am saying.

  • A lie in - Breakfast in bed with a cute card will go a long way. A little bit harder if the little one is not sleeping well (in which case refer to self promo gift card bit above)

  • The usual suspects.. but elevated - Getting her flowers? Why not get her a whole subscription. There’s lots of websites that do this now and you can choose the length for which you would like to subscribe. Here are a few more ideas:
